The Hobbit

Back to Middle Earth! This was a well done 1st of 3 parts of The Hobbit.

No spoilers but it seems that the best way is to see this in the 2D version. You are drawn in more to the story than looking at the details of the film... HFR High Frame Rate is more like being on the set or even a soap opera video experience. Try both, but I would see the 2D first for best story impact.

I was compelled to re watch the extended version of the LOTR...see below for the Blu Ray version.

Avalon - The Return of King Arthur - A must read!

      If you have read any Steven Lawhead books, Avalon is one of the best in the series after the first two excellent works, in my opinion. There are real world turns and problems, and you get to see Arthur's prototype deal with  modern dilemmas and prove Britain's worth again.  I really liked the concept of  the first book Taliesin very much. It was a great twist on Atlantis/Albion. Trust Me on this. :) The 2nd book Merlin was very strong read and established Merlin as a key player in the series. His influence and direction are key to Arthur's success and others. If you have read other Arthurian series this one has the ring of "true history". The 3rd book  Arthur is a core read for this series which details Arthur's exploits. When you have read these you feel like you now know the characters as friends and you will respect the Arthur legend/composite of Britain's historic leaders of the time frame.

The Hunger Games is a great book. If you liked the Movie you will get more from the book. Similar in style to Enders Game but with new twists.

John Marco interview on Eyes of God

I am enjoying John Marco's "Eyes of God" and "Devil's Armor" so far. EOG started slow but really sped up near the end and DA has been moving nicely along now for the whole book. I like the characters and once again like Tyrants and Kings series you hardly noctice you are reading at all. It is like a movie flowing along.

An interview with Sean Russell author of "The One Kingdom". I have been looking for a Tolkien type epic that does not copy Tolkien but has the expanse and battle scenes. All reviews of this series seem to support this view. Read the authors' intentions for "The One Kingdom". The cover art is very good as you can see.
